Thanks Bruce. My worms came. They are lovely, happy and healthy. I teach science in a school for kids with learning disabilities. The compost box is a great way to learn about decomposers in the food chain. The box contains worm compost bedding, bits of newspaper and some leaves. It stir it and spritz it every 2 days to keep it aerated, although it also has air holes in the top and sides. The kids find the tunneling fascinating. I feed the worms bread and oatmeal which gets nice and moldy. Then we examine the mold in the microscope and learn about Sir Alexander Fleming's mold which led to the development of penicillin. The kids love it.

Who knew a bunch of squirmy crawlers could teach you so much.

Received the worms Tuesday and got them into a temporary container with some newspaper and coffee grounds for them to eat. They seem to be doing just fine. Monday the 4th graders are going to fish them out and put them in there permanent home. I think it will be a great fun learning experience for them.

Received my Africans right on time as promised. Every worm was alive, and after watering as directed,were very active. I know that it is just the beginning, but, it is a perfect beginning. Can't beat this service or the worms. I ordered 1000 Alabama Jumpers on Friday. They shipped Monday from Organic Worm Farm and I picked them up at the local Arizona post office at Noon on Wednesday.

The box was marked "live bait" and was it ever. These guys were moving like I've never seen from anywhere else I've bought worms. Of course they are Alabama Jumpers and they sure are active compared to other worms.
